I am a multimedia journalist from West Bengal, India, working at the intersection of environment, mining, communities, and memory. My journey began in 2015 with Death Valley, a long-term project on Jadugoda, Jharkhand, India’s first uranium mine. Once a dense forest, Jadugoda was turned into a radioactive zone where tribal communities were displaced and left to suffer cancers, birth deformities, and poisoned lands. Documenting this devastation became the turning point of my career. I studied photography at Counter Foto in Dhaka and have since exhibited in India and abroad, using my work to spark conversations on environmental justice. Over the years, I’ve collaborated with international agencies like Al Jazeera, BBC, Mongabay, Scroll, PARI, and many to highlight how mining destroys both ecosystems and lives, giving voice to communities silenced by exploitation. The Jadugoda project shaped my commitment: to use multimedia not just as art, but as evidence—making visible what power tries to bury.
